Each month, we proudly recognize the outstanding contributions of a member who has made a significant impact. They help drive ۶Ƶ's initiatives forward and foster a community of growth, collaboration, and learning. Their commitment inspires us all, and we are grateful for the difference they make in advancing our collective goals.

Member of the Month: January 2025

Our January Member of the Month is Lauren Cullen, the Director of Student Recruitment and Enrolment at Saint Mary's University and Chair of ۶Ƶ's Student Recruitment Committee. Lauren is an incredibly dedicated and hard-working member of our team, consistently going above and beyond to drive ۶Ƶ's initiatives forward. Whether it's through her strategic leadership or her hands-on approach to supporting our efforts, Lauren’s commitment is evident in all she does. 

In her own words, she shares, “One of the best things about my involvement with ۶Ƶ is the ability to connect with and learn from other members who share the same passion for welcoming international students to our province. The positive energy and spirit of collaboration is what makes ۶Ƶ unique and is so important in making Nova Scotia an ideal education destination for international students.” We are grateful for Lauren's leadership and the positive impact she continues to have on our organization and the broader international student community.

Member of the Month: February 2025

Our February Member of the Month is Amy Braye, the manager of the International Education Centre at Mount Saint Vincent University and Chair of ۶Ƶ's Immigration Committee. Amy is an incredibly dedicated and dynamic leader, consistently going above and beyond to propel ۶Ƶ's initiatives forward. As our February Member of the Month, her strategic oversight as Manager of the International Education Centre at Mount Saint Vincent University and her visionary leadership as Chair of ۶Ƶ's Immigration Committee underscore her unwavering commitment to excellence.

In her own words, she shares, “Thanks to ۶Ƶ, Nova Scotia’s Post-Secondary sector has a space to come together to address challenges and support each other. We have designed programming and provided expertise in several advocacy areas, but most of all we help each other maintain the highest standard of international education through information sharing and transparency. ۶Ƶ has been a cornerstone of my work, and I have been happy to give back to the community they have created.” We are grateful for Amy's leadership and the positive impact she continues to have on our organization and the broader international student community.

Member of the Month: March 2025

Our March Member of the Month is Alida Campbell, the Chair of the BEST Conference Committee and Manager of the National Connector Program at the Halifax Partnership. Alida is a passionate and dedicated leader, playing a pivotal role in fostering professional connections and driving impactful initiatives that support workforce integration and economic growth in Nova Scotia.

As Chair of the BEST Conference Committee, Alida has been instrumental in shaping an event that empowers and inspires international students and newcomers by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and networks they need to thrive. Through her leadership in the National Connector Program, she continues to create meaningful opportunities for skilled talent to build professional relationships and integrate successfully into the local job market.

Reflecting on her experience, Alida shares:
"۶Ƶ plays a critical role in bringing together leaders, organizations, and newcomers to build a stronger, more connected Nova Scotia. Through collaboration and knowledge-sharing, we are collectively shaping a province where international talent can succeed. I’m grateful to be part of this community and to contribute to the important work being done to support international students and newcomers."
